Anne’s Story

Anne Till’s interest in food and nutrition was sparked as a young girl as she was exposed to the excellent culinary abilities of her mother and grandmother. She also witnessed firsthand the power of therapeutic nutrition to impact wellness when her family members adopted dietary principles to manage their weight, hypertension, and diabetes. A combination of her interest in food and medicine as well as her passion for people led Anne to pursue a career in clinical nutrition.

Anne's Educational Journey

Anne qualified as a licensed dietitian after she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, her Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Dietetics, and an internship at the University of Kwazulu Natal in South Africa. She went on to study Psychology through the University of South Africa and later completed graduate courses in Community Nutrition and International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology through East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Anne received her Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. At heart, Anne is a true academic who is passionate about the science of nutrition and the ability of healthy food and lifestyle choices to impact lives. She reads widely and works to remain up to date with current developments in nutrition research.

“Adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle is not difficult,” Anne says. “When you silence the confusion that surrounds food and dietary advice and understand your own individual metabolic makeup and factors that affect lifestyle behaviors, getting it all right is a lot easier than you might think.”

Testimonial

I have been working with Avril for a month now and so far I have lost 15 pounds! The diet I’m following is easy to understand and even my blood work came back a lot better by changing my lifestyle and working with her diet. She is extremely helpful, professional, and I definitely recommend her!

Anne's Career

Anne owned and directed South Africa’s largest practice of clinical dietitians for seventeen years. This also included managing a large nutrition consulting business that provided services to a number of pharmaceutical businesses, health insurance companies, schools, corporations, and wellness incentive programs throughout South Africa and internationally.

Anne relocated to the Triangle area in North Carolina in 2012, where she has re-established her clinical practice. Her USA-based company is focused on providing individualized patient counseling as well as organizational consulting services to medical practices and corporations who want to implement evidence-based nutrition services in-house. She also consults to commercial organizations on individual projects, such as wellness initiatives, presentations for wellness days, in-house program development and many other types of projects that require an experienced nutrition expert.

“I love working with people and helping them achieve their health and weight-management goals. It gives me much pleasure seeing people achieve their goals and maintain their success.”

Anne knows that each person is unique and that individualized solutions bring about the best outcomes. She believes that she has learned much from all the patients she has counseled through the years, and she also feels that all of her patients have helped to mold her into the highly regarded clinician she is today.

Anne's Family Life

“I really do understand the challenges of eating well in our modern world… especially in the USA. As a wife and busy working mom of three boys, I know too well how challenging it can be.”

Anne lives in Cary, NC with her husband, her three wonderful boys, and three cute Schnauzers. Anne loves cooking healthy, delicious food, reading, running, boating, and water skiing. Since moving to America, she has also become keen on snow skiing, a fun activity that her whole family enjoys.
